Songs in TV
by Molly-Ann Leikin
I love writing songs in TV. And my resume shows that I’ve been very successful creating and placing them. Some of my songs in TV have been on the air in prime time for five years, like the theme for “Eight is Enough”, which is still always playing somewhere in the world.
Writing songs in TV has been very good to me and for me. I’m an excellent assignment writer in that medium. Once I’ve read the pilot script, and have seen the pilot itself several times, I discuss all the song details with the producers and music supervisors, making sure we agree on what is needed and what should be where.
Writing songs in TV isn’t just about scribbling down whatever pops up in the first ten seconds. It is a thoughtful, creative process. Writing songs in TV and for TV requires many drafts. I happily do that, making sure everybody on the production team is pleased with my work. When they are, they use my songs in their TV shows and movies of the week. One of songs, “Happy Endings”, was nominated for an Emmy.
I can help you place your songs in TV, too.
We initiate that process with a consultation.
