What
If Mozart's Mom Forced Him To Be a CPA?
by Molly-Ann Leikin
I don't care what the naysayers in your life may think.
You are talented and have a special contribution to make.
We are all richer for your being here and sharing your gifts with us. Something important would
be missing without you.
As artists, our job is to ask what if? Why not? How about…?
As artists, our job is to dream.
Our fortune is in our fingerprint.
Nobody but another artist can understand that.
So when somebody tells you you'll never make it, ask him what he'd do without his favorite song.
And where he'd be without Rachmaninoff? Or Michelangelo. Or Georgia O'Keeffe. As they were coming
up, all these brilliant artists who fill our lives with passion were considered nuts, just as
we are.
What if Mozart's mom forced him to be a CPA?
Or if the Beatles formed a dermatology group.
Or if Faith Hill drove a brown van for UPS.
And Maya Angelou answered 800 numbers in New Delhi?
Stick with it.
We need you.
I promise, you won't always be singing alone.
That could change as soon as tomorrow.
