Record Deals

It’s hard to imagine how many deserving bands and artists are looking for record deals.  Many have already had record deals that haven’t worked out.  Some anxious, naïve bands and artists were signed to schlock companies whose only goal was to rip them off. 

That’s the past.  It’s over.  You start clean right now.
 
While shopping for the right record deals, I suggest you ask yourselves the following:

l. Have you written songs that are original – musically and lyrically?  Are you saying something new or simply recycling what other people have already said and sung?
2. Have you thought of co-writing outside your band to get the strongest songs, not just the ones you wrote yourselves?  Does your ego stand in the way of your commercial success?
3. Are you looking for record deals just for the sake of being signed, or do you want the right record deals on labels that really click with your original vocal and instrumental sound?
4. What can you contribute to the literature of music that no other band/artist looking for record deals can?

These are tough questions.  But when you change the process, you can change the results.  And for our clients, those results often include record deals.
