Bamboo
by Molly-Ann Leikin
When planting Bamboo, place the seeds in the ground, and water them carefully, making sure they
get just enough sun. After one year, you will see a little sprout pop up that is about one inch
high. After two years, the same little, one inch sprout is all there will be. Ditto year three.
And year four. You might want to give up on ever having a Bamboo plant, but hold on a second.
In spite of appearances above the ground, underneath the surface, for the past four years, the
roots have been growing deep and spreading wide, creating a solid foundation for the plant.
On year five, it grows eighty feet.
Be bamboo.
