A Good Book
by Molly-Ann Leikin
My
old friend, Charles Bernstein, is best known as an award-winning film composer. His credits are
dazzling - Oscars, Emmy's, you name it. The man is good.
Charles is also a fine prose writer. He writes a column for Score, the newsletter published
by the Society of Composers and Lyricists. And he won the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for it. A
collection of Charles' columns has just been published as a book. It is called "Film Music
and Everything Else", Music, Creativity and Culture as seen by a Hollywood Film Composer.
Charles sent me a copy and my first reaction was to share the book with all of you. You'll be
richer for the experience.
The publisher
is Turnstyle Music Publishers and the ISBN number is 0-9704273-0-1.
Enjoy.
